Language Lab

Introducing the Language Lab programme for pre school aged children.

I have developed this programme to be tailored to meet the needs of the individuals within a small group. This programme includes aspects of Elklan training alongside years of working with Wellcomm, Talk Boost and other practices. I am a fully qualified teacher and I have experience in supporting children with speech and language but I am NOT a speech therapist. These sessions can support speech and language development but will not replace any speech and language support needed by a speech therapist. I can, however, support with activities set by speech therapists to ensure you are confident in delivering them at home.

Speech and language development is essential for young children, as it directly impacts their communication, cognitive growth, and overall success. Effective language skills help children express their needs and emotions, foster positive relationships, and support social interactions. Strong language development also enhances memory, reasoning, and academic performance, laying the foundation for reading, writing, and learning in other subjects. Additionally, children who communicate well tend to have better emotional regulation and higher self-esteem. Early intervention for speech and language issues can prevent long-term delays, ensuring children develop the lifelong skills needed for success in school and social environments.

Your child will have fun while they…

  • Develop their vocabulary through games, songs, stories and activities.

  • Understand and follow instructions.

  • Begin to understand and answer simple questions.

  • Learn and sing many different rhymes, songs and stories.

  • Lengthen their sentences.

  • Develop their pronunciation of certain sounds (developmentally appropriate).

  • Build up language through play opportunities.
